Aarogyam

The word AAROGYA is Sanskrit for ‘overall well-being’. AAROGYA connotes the good health of mind, body and spirit. It implies a disease-free existence.

AAROGYAM has a holistic 4-point health objective:
  • To assess and diagnose the health needs of individuals, families and communities and provide comprehensive care
  • To provide family welfare services
  • To counsel and educate individuals, families and communities
  • To provide qualitative, preventive and curative health care to the community

In India, a quality health service that can provide early diagnosis and timely care is critical, particularly for the poor.

Isfon believes that:
  • Good health is precious to every human being
  • A healthy family grooms the next generation and
  • Creates a better environment in the community

Presently, IsFon provides the following health services:
  • Health Check-up Camps : IsFon provides health services like screening and free medicines in the adopted villages.
  • Eye Camps : Since 2005 Eye Check-up Camp has been held at Taloja MIDC in each quarter.

  • Kitchen Garden (Seasonal and Perennial) : An important aspect of maintaining good health is having nutritious daily meals that contain a variety of vegetables. IsFon provided aspirants with the support to develop Seasonal Kitchen Garden by growing Red Pumpkin, Ridge Gourds, Chilli, Okra, Bottle Gourd, etc. Perennial Kitchen Gardens are also cultivated with curry neem, Guava, Lemon, Papaya, Drumstick and so on.
  • Pathology Diagnosis Lab : Most diseases originate from poor living conditions in the slums. Early diagnosis is the key to control and cure them. Most of the underprivileged are unable to bear the high cost of diagnostic tests. As a result, the illness becomes more long-drawn and complicated.
IsFon started a Collection Centre for Pathological Investigations at its Pune office in collaboration with NM Medical at very nominal charges.
  • Other Activities :
    - Gram Swachhata is undertaken in different villages to improve awareness and practice of cleanliness
    - With the Pad Paree initiative, quality sanitary napkins were provided at reasonable rates to improve menstrual hygiene.
